Mrs. Swanson - ELA

Grade 8 ELA

Mrs. Swanson
Room 211 B

We are off to a great start this year. Eighth grade is such an important year for our students as we prepare them for the challenges they will be facing next year in high school. Our students have several events to look forward to this year, therefore it is key for everyone to stay positive and give full effort.

Literature Unit 1: Suspense
How do author create suspense and why do readers love it?
We are reading stories by the following authors:
Alfred Hitchcock, W.W. Jacobs, Lucille Fletcher, Edgar Allan Poe, and Stephen King.

* Reminder
Responsibility cards are part of our school plan and need to be carried by students at all times.

Students have ELA homework a few times a week and they need to stay on top of the work. Points are deducted when work is late and after two days the grade becomes a zero. Missing assignments are very damaging to students grades so remind your child to complete all assignments.
