“Develop a passion for learning. If you do, you will never cease to grow.”

Dear Parents,

Welcome to our third grade class in room 307 at Michael Anderson School.

I want to take the time to introduce myself and let you know a little bit about myself. I graduated from ASU with a Bachelors in Arts in Elementary Education and a Masters Degree in Education with a Reading Endorsement.

Teaching is my passion; and learning, my lifetime goal. I believe the best part of being a teacher is that there is never a dull moment! Every single day brings something new and exciting and there is so much to learn together. My classroom will offer your child many opportunities to grow as a reflective thinker, problem solver and communicator.

I will try to provide your child with many opportunities to collaborate with and help others.
Collaborative learning gives students the opportunity to deepen their understanding and reflect on their own learning experiences as well as the needs of others. Collaborative learning also promotes turn-taking, listening and speaking skills, empathy, respect, tolerance, perspective taking and a sense of community.

At Michael Anderson, we believe in growth mindset. What is growth mindset? It's a set of beliefs. A belief system that encourages hard work, effort, perseverance, practice and dedication. With a growth mindset, we learn to view mistakes as opportunities for learning.

Together, we can make this year, a successful year for your child. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to stop by. Our doors are always open or if you wish to schedule an appointment with me, please call me at (623) 772-5160.
